zinc inspired letters
Kristin, a very lovely Charmer, sent over this easy and affordable craft project. We've all seen the silver letters at Anthropology and other darling stores, but it's so easy to make your own for a fraction of the cost! Kristin bought seven letters for less than the price of one at Anthropologie! You go girl... we love a great deal ;) Check out the tutorial below and thank you Kristin for sending this adorable project over!
Supplies:
Black acrylic paint, Folk Art pearl paint, cardboard letters and a paint brush.
Directions:
Paint the letters all black and let them dry. Then dip your brush into the pearl paint and use long strokes to paint over the black. This silver coat will give it the texture and depth it needs to look like a matte metal. Let that coat dry and hang them wherever you want!

such a great idea! something so obvious, but i've nver though of. i'm going to have to add it to my list of weekend to-do's!
Wow this turned out sooo good ;) I absolutely love it.

Love this. And your mug!!! Where does it come from? It's Beeeyoooteefull!
I'd love to know where you bought the base cardboard 3D letters. Thanks!
Amazing tutorial, I've had these letters in my Anthro wish list for a long time now waiting for them to go on sale, but now I don't have to wait! Thank you!
the mug was purchased at a local grocery market a few years ago.... its called Vintage Garden by Ambiance Collections. The cardboard letters were purchased at Hobby Lobby! :)
Do you know if hobby lobby sell them online? I've looking all through their website and no luck. The nearest hobby lobby is 4 hours away. :( Thanks.
Hi Ivan, I know that Kristin bought the letters at the Hobby Lobby store. That's a bummer it's so far from you. Maybe you could call the store and have them ship some to you? They might do it... you never know! :) Hope that helps!!
buh-rilliant! love this...
Gorgeous tutorial! Love what you've done here.
Love this! Where did you find the Print about the "start" bathroom... that would be perfect in the kid's bathroom!
I've seen the poster on several blogs and never seem to be able to find out where I could buy this. Our first born is expected in January and I would love one for the nursery.
ooh la la. i'm stoked to find your tutorial on pinterest. can't wait to try it. xo.
